June 2026 Newsletter

A Message from Leadership

As HLSRCC continues to grow, so does our outreach, advocacy, and engagement across the community. Over the past quarter, we have focused on expanding awareness of our mission, strengthening supporter engagement, and preparing for important legislative and community initiatives ahead.

This quarter reflects continued progress in building a stronger, more visible organization while staying committed to the values that make the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo such an important part of our community and culture.

Expanding Our Outreach: Social Media Growth & Awareness

HLSRCC continues to expand its digital presence and engagement across multiple platforms as we work to educate the public and share the impact of the HLSR.

  • Advertising Campaign:

    • Rodeo video

    • Ask: Follow us on social media

    • Ask: Join and Donate

    • Four Pillars and community engagement

Our social media efforts remain focused on highlighting the Rodeo’s impact on agriculture, education, entertainment, Western heritage, scholarships, and community investment throughout the region.

Supporter Engagement & Fundraising: Donor Pins & Supporter Materials

HLSRCC lapel pins continue to be distributed to donors and stakeholders as part of our broader outreach and visibility efforts.

These efforts are helping strengthen awareness of HLSRCC while growing the network of individuals supporting our advocacy and educational mission.

Community Engagement: Community Clean-Up Day

HLSRCC is preparing for an upcoming community clean-up initiative focused on giving back and supporting neighborhoods across the region.

The event will bring together volunteers and supporters for a day of service. Additional details, volunteer opportunities, and participation information will be shared soon.

Legislative Engagement: Legislative Day Planning

Planning efforts continue for HLSRCC’s Legislative Day in partnership with HLSR for the next session. This initiative will provide an opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers and discuss the important economic, educational, agricultural, entertainment, and cultural contributions the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo delivers to Texas communities.

HLSRCC Board members and officers attended a Legislative Day at the Rodeo hosted by HLSR on March 8, 2026. Elected Officials in attendance included TX Senator Carol Alvardo, Rep. Briscoe Cain, Rep. Lalani Suleman, Houston City Council Member Fred Flickinger, and Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Annette Ramirez.

Thank you for your continued support, engagement, and commitment to helping HLSRCC build a strong foundation for the future.
